Umbra's Flagship store located downtown Toronto is not a store one is likely to miss. This award winning retail location features a facade lighting design like none other. Designers at Architectural Lighting Design (ALD) Bjarne Pedersen and Ben Mitchell collaborated with John Snier from Kohn Snier Architects to create a truly unique facade, fitting for the Umbra brand.

The design consists of 300 pink translucent tubes Installed vertically over the building exterior which are then backlit with approximately 450 of GVA Lighting's CL05 waterproof CoinLight luminaire. The CoinLights are arranged in a diamond pattern with half facing up and half facing down to create a unique pattern.

The entire installation consumes only 700W and has been given a citation for energy conscious facade lighting. This installation was also honored with the Paul Waterbury Award for Outdoor Lighting by the IIDA.
