As the first stage of a major multi-million dollar renovation project, Casino Rama’s main entrance was moved from the original casino building to the rotunda, recognized for its multi-colored, cone-shaped roof feature. GVA lighting successfully illuminated the new Porte Cochère entrance to be very bright and welcoming, with clear indication that this is the new main entrance. To accentuate the stunning architectural detail of the Porte Cochere, the HL-COVE, HL-DL and STR9® were specified for this application.
A soft glow surrounds the outer perimeter and inner sections with 650ft of HL-COVE. Across the wooden horizontal beams was 525ft of HL-DL to highlight the structure and complement the warm tone with a 2700K colour temperature. Approximately 100ft of STR9 was used to give the extra punch of light at the front section of the entrance. Overall, these products combined add great harmony to the architectural structure of Casino Rama’s new Port Cochère entrance.
Carved out of a cornfield near Orillia 16 years ago, Casino Rama has grown to become an all-season resort and one of Ontario’s most-popular attractions.
