Block 185, Austin, TX

Standing tall at 601 W. 2nd St. in Downtown Austin, Texas, Block 185 is an office skyscraper that topped out in July 2021. The 35-floor downtown Austin office tower with a height of 594 feet, it is the fourth tallest tower in Austin and one of the tallest office towers in Texas, reportedly set to be occupied by tech giant Google.

Block 185 brings an instantly iconic sailboat-inspired design to the skyline celebrating Block Austin’s free spirit. The building’s unique design is attributed to its location near Shoal Creek and Lady Bird Lake. On the south side, the tower highlights receding terraces that create an intriguing effect, facing Lady Bird Lake. The western façade, on the other hand, curves away from Shoal Creek, resembling a sailboat.
