Market Street Bridge
Market Street Bridge / Philadelphia, PA / United States | IP-SF-3™ & PixelDOME™
The recent renovation project replaces 640 incandescent 8W light bulbs along the arch with brighter, high-efficiency 3W LED PixelDOMEs. PixelDOMEs accentuate the classical double arch profile, adding to the timeless look of this historical bridge. Four FL floodlights in elliptical beam graze over the surface of the arches, highlighting the curves at night. 384 IP-SF-3 low wattage LED modules, arranged in linear strings, coat the water surface with a cool blue sheen. The Market Street crossing was the first connection point to link the Center City to West Philadelphia. The present bridge, erected in 1932, nobly spans across the Schuylkill River and is home to four eagle statues from the original Pennsylvania Station in New York City. The bridge often serves as backdrop for summertime events along the banks of the Schuylkill River.
